Homemade Valentine’s Day Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Perfect for a Valentine’s Day doggy treat! Not only is it fun and easy to make these homemade dog treats, your dog will love them! With just four ingredients, these healthy treats will have your dog licking his lips and begging for more.
Here’s how to make them…

2 cups whole wheat flour
½ cup creamy or chunky peanut butter*
2 eggs
¼ cup water

*NOTE: Use a good quality peanut butter, preferably natural. Make CERTAIN the peanut butter you choose does NOT include xylitol, an alternative sweetener that is toxic to dogs and can cause serious illness and even death if ingested.

If you use chunky peanut butter, you may have to use a bit more water to make the dough pliable enough.

One – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Two – Beat the eggs in a bowl with a fork till they are well mixed. Stir in the peanut butter and mix till combined. Then add the flour a little at a time till partially combined.

Three – Add the water a bit at a time and mix until the dough comes together and is workable.

Four – Roll out the dough onto a lightly floured surface and cut into shapes with cookie cutters, preferably bone shaped ones!!

Five – Place the dog treats on a cookie sheet sprayed with vegetable oil spay and bake at 350 degrees for about fifteen minutes. Watch carefully to avoid burning but bake until the bottom surfaces are lightly browned.

Six – Cool and store in a covered container in the refrigerator.
