Starbucks Goes To The Dogs With The Secret Menu Puppuccino

If you are a Starbucks coffee fan, you may already be aware that the popular coffee chain has a secret menu with everything from the Willy Wonka Frappuccino to an Iced Raspberry Latte.

But by far the most popular item on this secret menu isn’t for people, it’s for dogs and it’s called (no surprise here!) the puppuccino. No fancy syrups, toppings or caffeine goes into this doggy treat, as it’s simply an espresso sized paper cup full of whipped cream.

Although Starbucks gives out the cups of whipped cream to dog visitors at no charge, most customers choose to also purchase something for themselves at the same time.

Some dog owners with two pups get one puppuccino and have the dogs share it. Others with a single smaller dog, may want to give their canine companion a lick or two and then take the rest home for their dog to enjoy later. A little bit goes a long way.

Milk is not considered toxic to dogs, but many dogs are lactose intolerant and cannot digest the lactose (milk sugar) found in milk and other dairy products. Many cheeses actually have much smaller amounts of lactose than whole milk or ice cream, which accounts for many dogs being able to have small amounts of cheese without getting a digestive upset

Because of this, you’ll want to be careful if you take your dog through the Starbuck’s drive through, as some dogs have delicate digestive systems and may be more sensitive to lactose than others, so we’ll leave it up to you to decide if a Puppuccino is in your dog’s future.
